29/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Dutch town of Vlagtwedde has agreed to open the first centre for the deportation of asylum seekers on 1 July despite protests from human rights associations, noted a press release issued by a series of associations. The decision follows in the logic of the policy led by Dutch liberal immigration minister Rita Verdonk, comments the press release, adding that in the past other Dutch towns have refused to house such a centre.
