Production and exploitation of knowledge central to work of informal Council, to open on Thursday

Brussels, 29/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 1 July, the Netherlands will inaugurate their Presidency of the European Union by hosting an informal "Competitiveness" Council in Maastricht. The meeting, to end on 3 July, will be chaired by the Economic Affairs Minister, Laurens Jan Brinkhorst, and the Minister for Education, Culture and Science, Maria Van der Hoeven.
