Bayrou and Rutelli announce creation of European Democrat Party, to be founded by 10 July

Brussels, 17/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - UDF leader François Bayrou announced on Thursday during a press conference with Margherita leader, Francesco Rutelli, the creation of a new European Democrat Party which, he said, "should be founded by 10 July". After a UDF/Margherita meeting, Mr Bayrou said: "We decided to take one more step toward founding the political movement we wish to set up, a pro-European movement, at the centre of European political life".
