03/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the EP will vote on an urgent request by the Council on the EU/US agreement on the transfer of personal data on passengers on board transatlantic flights. The Liberal group has announced that it will vote against the urgent request, as it feels that the EP should wait for the opinion of the Court of Justice, as the plenary decided to bring the matter before it (by 276 votes in favour, 60 against and 13 abstentions: see EUROPE of 22 April, p.12).
