Giscard d'Estaing suggests Chris Patten as future Commission president, while Verhofstadt says he is available - Pat Cox is to reveal his intentions on Wednesday

Dublin, 03/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The President-in-Office of the European Council, Bertie Ahern, announced on Saturday in Dublin (on the sidelines of the enlargement celebrations) that, during his capital tour which is to begin on Wednesday, he will also discuss Mr Prod's succession at the head of the European Commission with his 24 counterparts.
