Commission launches new procedures to remedy public deficit slippage in Italy, the Netherlands and United Kingdom - Decision on Portugal is repealed

Brussels, 28/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - As foreseen, the European Commission officially decided, on Wednesday, to trigger off the early warning mechanism to avoid public deficit in Italy and to launch excessive deficit procedures against the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom.
