Brussels, 28/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 6-8 May in Strasbourg the Council of Europe will be bringing together 400 young leaders from civil society and representatives from youth organisations, Non Government Organisations, and political and religious organisations from the whole world to discuss "Europe, Youth and globalisations". The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Walter Schwimmer will introduce the meetings in which participants include: Fabienne Keller, Mayor of Strasbourg, Aminata Traoré, former minister of culture in Mali. The Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio will bring the meeting to a close. The event will be based around six main themes: democratic governance and youth participation; human rights and responsibilities; culture and diversity; sustainable development; peace; education and employment. The youngsters will have the chance to set up a common platform for formulating political messages on solutions to problems created by globalisation.
