Commission is to examine export restrictions for raw materials, contributing to rise in steel prices

Brussels, 28/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - In order to combat the rise in steel prices worldwide, the European Commission is willing to examine ways to tackle the raw material export restrictions imposed by China (coke), Russia and Ukraine (scrap iron), Commissioner Pascal Lamy's spokesperson, Arancha Gonzalez, said on Wednesday. The issue will be discussed during the visit by the Chinese Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs to Brussels, she explained.
