Commission makes 200,000 EUR available for initial emergency aid to victims of rail tragedy

Brussels, 26/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - In response to the Pyongyang authorities' request for international assistance after Thursday's rail tragedy in Ryongchon, North Korea (see Europe of 24 April, p.7), the European Commission decided immediately to make available humanitarian aid of 200,000 EUR, under the emergency procedure.
