Television fans want to steal show from politicians -journalists hold the strings

Brussels, 15/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - In Finland, a racing car is closing in on another. Following Ari Vatanen, elected in 1999 but who will be standing in June in France, it is now Juha Kankkunen who is counting on votes from Finnish voters. But next June's election will be particularly characterised by the very large number of candidates from our TV screens. In a country where preferential votes count substantially, TV stars have a good chance of stealing the show from the politicians....
