Investigation into proposed Oracle take-over of PeopleSoft suspended

Brussels, 15/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the European Commission confirmed that it had suspended its investigation into the take-over bid by US group Oracle for its fellow US rival PeopleSoft, as it did not have enough information. Tilman Lueder, one of the spokespersons for Commissioner Monti indicated that the suspension of the enquiry was decided on Wednesday and that no new deadline for its conclusion had been set (initially, the date limit was set for 11 May).
