Brussels, 14/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - "The longer we wait for positive concrete action on Services of General Interest (SGI), the harder it becomes to demonstrate that workers' rights and public services remain part of the EU equation". Such is the message representatives of the European trade union world delivered to President Romano Prodi during their meeting on 31 March in Brussels in order to draw his attention to the highly topical issue of liberalising public services in Europe.
