Commission approves future EU/Canada agreement model to be adopted formally after discussion by parties at Summit of 18 March

Brussels, 03/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission approved the configuration of the future EU/Canada Trade and Investment Enhancement Agreement (TIEA). The model of this new type of agreement, which lays down the scope and the main objectives, must now be discussed with the Canadian government and formally adopted by the EU and Canadian leaders at the EU/Canada Summit of 18 March.
