Brussels, 23/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has set up a fourth series of "Biobiz" workshops to promote the creation of biotechnology companies. Biobiz is a targeted support action under the sixth Research Framework Programme (2002-2006) and aims to provide European scientists with the knowledge and tools to set up businesses in the field of life sciences and biotechnology. The three-day training courses concentrate on access to capital, technology transfer, business plans, the regulation on enterprise and business incubators. By October 2006, 30 workshops will be held in the EU and the candidate associated countries and the US. 350 potential entrepreneurs have already taken part in previous workshops.
