Brussels, 27/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - During the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, celebrated every 25 November, the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio stated: it is the responsibility of the States to guarantee women the right not to suffer any violence whatever its form and the perpetrator, and to punish - in a dissuasive manner - those that are guilty.
