Strong rise in confidence index

Brussels, 28/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The index that measures general economic confidence by business indicates a strong upsurge in confidence in the Euro Area during November, rising from 95.9 to 96.5 points. This is the highest percentage ever reached since the middle of 2002, underlines the Commission. This development is due to a rise of confidence in the industrial sector.
