Brussels, 03/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament Socialist Group is organising on 11 November in Brussels a seminar on the theme of 'Industrial change - re-organisation of business and production. Successful and social innovative models of securing and creating employment in Europe.' Works will be opened by the group President, Enrique Baron, and will centre on two public debates, entitled:
Re-definition and re-organisation of business and work: new models for industrial suitability in Europe (chaired by the German Social Democrat Christa Randzio-Plath, Chairwoman of the EP Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee). A 'political contribution' by the President of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), John Monks, will be followed by expert contributions: Daniela Cavallo (Auto 500 GmbH,) Patrick Lepercq (Michelin), Sonja Jenny (Microsoft Europe), Jette Steen Knudsen (The Copenhagen Centre: New Partnership for Social Responsibility).
Creation and defence of social standards and collective agreements: new models for human and sustainable working conditions in Europe (Chaired by the British Labour member Stephen Hughes, ESP coordinator in the EP's Employment and Social Affairs Committee). After the 'political contribution' by Odile Quintin, Director General in DG Employment and Social Affairs in the European Commission, experts will contribute: André Lavandier (Goblet, Lavandier & Associés SA), Lynette Warren (Luton Group/Dunstable Innovation), Annemarie Goedmakers (NUON) and Jacques Terrenoire (Dublin European Foundation).
