Brussels, 12/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - EU High Representative for Afghanistan, Francesc Vendrell, called on Friday for an extension of NATO's mission to Afghanistan, ISAF, and for more manpower to counter insecurity in the country and prepare for the 2004 elections. Vendrell will be briefing a joint meeting of COPS (the EU's Security and Political Committee) and the North Atlantic Council on Afghanistan on Monday.
