Moves to protect "melon du Quercy" and "CArne de Cantabria"

Brussels, 10/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Two new applications for registration pursuant to the 1992 regulation on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin have been published in the Official Journal C 212 on 6 September 2003. France is seeking to protect its "Melon du Quercy" produced in the Tarn and Garonne, Lot and Lot and Garonne areas. This melon has a smooth or netted grey/green to yellow peel and orange flesh and weighs from 450 g to 1,300 g and above. The...
