04/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has adopted by 506 votes with 53 abstentions the report by German Social Democrat Lissy Gröner on the second phase of the Daphne programme (2004-2008) aimed at preventing violence toward children, adolescents and women and protecting victims and groups at risk. The budgetary allocation adopted for Daphne II is EUR 50 million. (For details, see EUROPE of 2 September, p.12).
