Brussels, 01/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Conseil des Barreaux de l'UE (CCBE) has published a guide to company social responsibility (CSR), aimed at European lawyers. The guide was written by German, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, French and Italian CSR experts and explains why lawyers should get involved in advising companies about CSR. In a press release, the CCBE argues that providing advice about CSR should be a daily task for lawyers advising companies and cites a few of the tasks described in the guide: assessing CSR with precautions; assessing the legal implications of companies' publicity or reports; incorporating CSR in risk management scenarios and quality control programmes, etc. The CCBE represents more than 500,000 lawyers through national bar associations.
