01/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Swedish Prime Minister, Göran Persson, made a statement on Sunday warning that, if the "no" vote triumphs at the referendum of 14 September on Sweden's membership of the euro, there would be no further referendum on the subject before the 2010 elections. Entry into the euro-zone could only take place three years later, and Mr Persson comments: "If we waited until 2013, there is the risk that Sweden would be joining the euro project after all the other countries who want to take part. Building the future of Europe would continue, but without Sweden having a major part to play".
