06/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - According to Reuters, the European Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs (and the former Portuguese Defence Minister) Antonio Vitorino, is no longer in the running to take over from NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson because according to the allies, the USA and other members of the Alliance have never supported his candidacy.
