Green light to aid for restructuring Société Nationale Maritime Corse-Méditerranée on strict conditions

Brussels, 09/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission decided to allow aid for EUR 76 million from the French government to restructure the public company Société Nationale Maritime Corse-Méditerranée (SNCM). The SNCM company is responsible for maritime transport from Marseilles and Corsica and provides maritime services between France and Italy, as well as North Africa but is suffering from the competition existing between Corsica and the French and Italian...
