Green light for acquisition of Britain's Holmes Place fitness clubs

Brussels, 02/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of Britain's Holmes Place fitness clubs by two investment funds Bridgepoint and Schroder Ventures Limited. Holmes Place itself owns 49 clubs in the UK. Bridgepoint controls Virgin Active, which is active in the same field as Holmes Place with 12 health clubs in the UK and 76 clubs in South Africa.
