Luxembourg, 16/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - In conclusions on Iran adopted on Monday in Luxembourg, the External Relations Council notes with concern the report on implementation of the non-proliferation treaty, presented on 6 June by the Director General at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Council recognises Iran's right to develop a nuclear programme for civilian purposes, but some aspects of this programme give cause for concern, he said. He therefore stresses the need for Iran to answer timely, fully and adequately all questions raised regarding its nuclear programme, and calls on Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA.
