Commission to recover 169 million Euros of aid misspent by Member States

Brussels, 15/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - Under the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF), known as the "agricultural audit system", the European Commission on Thursday asked eight Member States (Austria, Germany, Spain, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy and Portugal) to pay back a total of 169.01 million Euros of agricultural aid considered to have been illegally spent.
