Mr Koch-Weser to chair Economic and Financial Committee - Committee's status amended

Brussels, 25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - German deputy Finance Minister, Caio Koch-Weser, will replace Johnny Akerholm as President of the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) of the EU, the European Commission confirmed on Friday. The German will take up his duties on 19 May for a mandate of two years. The Economic and Financial Committee also agreed that Italian Lorenzo Bini Smaghi should replace Mr Koch-Weser as EFC Vice-President. Mr Akerholm will become the Secretary General of the...
