Commission is expected to at least develop guidelines for helping Member States deal with the problem of coexistence of GM and non-GM crops

Brussels, 25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - During the round table devoted to the results of research into the coexistence of genetically modified and traditional and organic crops, Commissioner Franz Fischler said on Thursday that the Commission will help Member States to deal with the problem of coexistence "by taking on a coordinating and advisory function and by promoting the exchange of information on best practices".
