Mr Loverdos indicates that Council could look favourably on Cuba's application to join Cotonou Agreement

Brazzaville, 03/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Greek Minister for Trade and Development Co-operation, Andreas Loverdos, told the Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting in Brazzaville on Wednesday that the Council of the European Union is waiting for the European Commission's opinion of Cuba's application to join the Cotonou Agreement. The Council could take position in May, on the basis of this opinion, he indicated, adding: "I have every reason to expect a favourable response".
