Commission could take measures to support transport and energy sectors if situation in Iraq demands it - presentation of communication

Brussels, 25/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission is expected to discuss and adopt a communication envisaging the taking of measures to deal with the consequences of the war in Iraq, notably in the energy and transport sectors. Gilles Gantelet, spokesperson for the Commissioner for transport and energy, explained that these measures were quite close to those taken following the attacks on 11 September but that for the time being the conditions were not all in place...
