Brussels, 25/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, President Prodi received the Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafic Hariri, with whom he discussed EU-Lebanese relations, as well as the situation in Iraq, especially from a perspective of relaunching the Middle East peace process. During his Monday evening meeting with George Papandreou in Athens, Mr Hariri asserted that the Lebanon wanted the EU to play a more dynamic role after the war in Iraq. It was not ruled out that the Lebanon, like other countries in the region recently, would request the European Commission for possible EU aid to mitigate the consequences of this crisis.
