24/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - According to a Eurostat report of 21 March, cinema attendance in the EU was up 10.2% in 2001, to 930 million places. Box-office revenue increased by 12.9%, breaking the 5 billion euro mark. In 2001, the number of attendances increased throughout the EU, apart from Finland (-8%) and Belgium (-2%).
