24/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Luxembourg socialist MEP, Robert Goebbels, has said that he is disappointed that the European Spring Council, "despite the efforts of the Greek Presidency", missed the opportunity to adopt "common investment measures" allowing encouragement of growth and that, as regards the trans-European networks, for example, it only mentioned the use of "existing" instruments. A Europe with "an internal market which will reach 450 million people (…) can and must generate its own growth through concrete and European-wide investment activities", and it "can no longer rely on others, such as the United States, which has its own major problems", warned the former Finance Minister.
