28/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Business Climate Indicator for the eurozone fell slightly in February to -0.36 (it was -0.32 in January), announced the European Commission on Friday. Recent changes in the Indicator illustrate the uncertainty of short-term economic prospects, comments the Commission. The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) for the eurozone remained unchanged in February at 98.2 points, the same as in January, while business and consumer confidence indices fell slightly. Retail trade and construction confidence indices rose slightly. The EU15 ESI rose slightly in February to 98.6 points, compared with 98.5 in January.
