14/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Constitutional Committee of the EP Chaired by Giorgio Napolitano will be organising "Study Day on the Presidency of the EU" on 18 February. In attendance will be the former European Commissioner (Ireland) Peter Sutherland, the former Permanent Representative of Belgium to the EU Philippe De Schoutheete and the Chancellor of the European University Institute of Florence Yves Mény. The themes will include: - "How can a Genuine European Government be Achieved?"; - "Does the Union need a Full-time Presidency of the Council (European) on an Extended mandate?"; "How Can the Election of the President of the Commission by the European Parliament be Planned?".
