Brussels, 14/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The STOA (Scientific and Technological Options Assessment) Unit of the European Parliament, chaired by Professor Antonios Trakatellis (EPP, Greek), is organising on 17 February a public workshop on the need for EU guidelines for multi-disciplinary breast-care centres. The workshop will be opened by German Social Democrat Karin Jöns. Speakers will include: - Professor Luigi Cataliotti, President of the European Society of Mastology in Florence; - Dr Chris De Wolf of the University of Geneva, who will present a study on the quality norms used in the various Member States and candidate countries; - Dr Dick Rainsbury of the Royal College of Surgeons of Finland; - Professor Emiel Rutgers of the Netherlands Cancer Institute; - and Dr Lawrence Von Karsa, Coordinator of the European Breast Cancer Network.
