Rome, 07/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of the Observatory on the European Convention, created by the Italian Minister for Community policies, Rocco Buttiglione, "an Italian Youth Convention on the Future of Europe" will take place in Rome on 10-12 January. Observatory co-ordinator, Francesco Tufarelli, explains that the objective is to ensure that the participation o youth in the reform process does not stop with days spent in Brussels or at the European Youth Convention held on 9-11 July 2002. Work will begin with a session at the Chamber of Deputies, together with contributions from President of the Chamber, Pier Ferdinando Casini, the Vice President of the Chamber (and representative of the Italian government to the Convention) Gianfranco Fini, Rocco Buttligione, Francesco Tufarelli and the Education Minister Letizia Moratti. Several Italian Convention members will take part, including Antonio Tajani, MEP.
