DEUTSCHE TELEKOM has put its French subsidiary SIRIS up for sale. CEGETEL (VU - VIVENDI UNIVERSAL group) is the most likely bidder. SIRIS is valued at a little over EUR 200 million. It has a workforce of 500 and is forecast to have an turnover of EUR 230 million in 2002. VU has sold its 11% stake in the US satellite television ECHOSTAR COMMUNICATIONS CORP for $1.07.
