EnBW's purchase of Kraftwerke Laufenburg given go-ahead

Brussels, 23/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the German group EnBW, specialising in the production, distribution and provision of electricity, to acquire its Swiss competitor Kraftwerke Laufenburg AG. The Commission's investigation has shown that the operation will only lead to a minimal consolidation of activities in terms of interconnections as well as in terms of local and regional distribution in South West Germany where the two companies are operating.
