Brussels, 18/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Swedish Social Democrat party gave its approval, on Saturday, for a referendum to be held on adopting the euro. This decision will allow Prime Minister Göran Persson to set a date for consultation, most likely in autumn 2003. Mr Persson admitted that the result of the referendum would no doubt be "tight".
