Commission approves national financing plans 2002 for Lebanon and Syria

Brussels, 18/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Commission approved the National Financing Plans of Lebanon and Syria for 2002.

EUR 12 million will be granted to Lebanon to assist it to improve its capacity to meet the commitments under the EU-Lebanon Association Agreement signed in June 2002. The funds mainly serve to support the government's efforts to liberalise trade, improve legislation and strengthen the institutions. We recall that the EU/Lebanon agreement aims to...
