15/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - A spokesman of the European Commission confirmed on Friday that the EU, the United States, Japan and South Korea had agreed, the day before, to suspend oil deliveries to North Korea after the violation by Pyongyang of its commitment not to pursue the nuclear weapons programme. "Oil supplies will be suspended from December on", was the statement made on Thursday by Brian Kremer, spokesman for the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organisation (KEDO), the body responsible for monitoring application of the 1994 agreements whereby North Korea undertakes not to pursue its nuclear arms programme.
