15/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Secretary General of COMECE (Conference of the EU's Episcopate), Mgr. Noel Treanor, has written to the EU Council, Commission and Council to ask for the European Union to do all it can to secure the release of the Colombian bishop Mrg. Jimenez, who "has not stopped fighting" for peace and justice, and Father Desiderio Orjuela, who was kidnapped with him on 11 November, probably by the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC).
