Partial review of antidumping measures

Brussels, 04/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Acting on its own initiative, the European Commission has decided to review antidumping measures on certain products originating in China. It explains in two notices published in the Official Journal that the new procedures do not concern the form of the measures in force, which does not make provision for the situations where goods have been damaged before entry into free circulation in the Community. And it recalls that these measures, namely the definitive antidumping duties in force since the spring on imports of powdered activated carbon (OJ C262) and coumarin (OJ C264) from China must not "go beyond what is necessary for the removal of injury" to the European industry.
