Formal request sent to Belgium to respect rights of European temporary employment agencies

Brussels, 23/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent Belgium a formal request to alleviate the conditions it imposes on temporary employment agencies established in other Member States, noting that the obstacle in Belgian law "totally contradicts the principle of freedom to provide cross-border services", recognising in a press release "that the requirements imposed by Belgian law on temporary employment agencies are aimed at pursuing a legitimate objectives, namely the...
