Document to be voted on in Estoril no longer mentions federal Europe, the Council focussing on legislative work, or the Commission becoming the "true executive power"

Brussels, 23/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - As reported last week, the European People's Party Political Bureau has made significant changes to its working document "A Constitution for a strong Europe", also known as the Martens-Schäuble document. It will be unveiled at the EPP Congress in Estoril on 18 October, which will be endorsing the final version. (See the initial version in Europe/Documents No. 2264 on 14 December 2001.)
