19/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - Amelia Torres, Spokesperson for Competition Commissioner Mario Monti, pointed out on Thursday that the Commission had, on 17 September, sent a letter to the German authorities calling on them to provide information that will help to establish whether a loan of EUR 400 million, that Berlin has decided to grant to MobilCom (see EUROPE of 17 and 18 September, pages 14 and 11), is State aid. Germany has 20 days in which to respond.
