New proposal on takeover bids in October?

Brussels, 12/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Frits Bolkestein indicated on Thursday that the European Commission may publish its new proposal on takeover bids in October. Addressing the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, he said that they had practically completed preparations for the proposal and he hoped it could be ready for the beginning of October. An earlier proposal was rejected by the European Parliament in July 2001, under pressure from German MEPs...
