Brussels, 25/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted the Algerian Development Bank (AGB) three loans that total EUR 165 million for the following projects/ EUR 45 million for the reconstruction of a series of priority infrastructure projects damaged during the floods of 10 November 2001 (repairs to the road between Bab El Oued and Chevalley, construction of a purification canal for rain water for the west of Algiers, repairs to the "Mustapha Jetee" in the Port of Algiers and reconstruction of 5 bridges on the RN 11 and CW 101, which were destroyed by landslides in Willaya de Chlef in the west of Algiers); EUR 50 million for the road network in greater Algiers, in order to increase the capacity of three junctions in the ring road around the capital; EUR 70 million for building a new section of the 26 Km east-west motor may linking Bourira to El Adjiba.
In 2001, European Investment Bank loans (EIB) in partner countries of the Mediterranean countries (MPC) have reached a record figure of EUR 1.5 bn, explained the EIB in a press release.
